Holiday Gifts For Cats

December 15, 2019
The holiday season is officially in full swing! As you finalize (or start) your preparations, don’t forget to pick up something for your feline pal. After all, no holiday scene is complete without a purring cat! A Lakewood Ranch, FL vet offers some great gift suggestions in this article.

Cats aren’t exactly shy about making themselves comfortable on our things. However, your kitty will really benefit from having some pieces that suit her specific needs. You don’t have to break the bank here: there are some great DIY options. Look online for ideas and instructions.

If there’s one thing every cat enjoys, it’s a comfy bed. Store-bought options are fine. Get your drowsy little pet a few different ones, and put them in various spots. Fluffy may want one in the bedroom for her to use at night, and another in the living room to doze off in while you watch TV. You can also just put a soft, folded-up throw blanket on a chair or ottoman for her.

Toys are a purrfect gift for kitties. You can’t go wrong with classic options, like catnip mice. However, you can also try something more modern, like a remote-controlled mouse or a mechanical ‘swimming’ fish. Don’t forget to snap some adorable pictures of Fluffy playing with her new things!

While you don’t want to go overboard with treats, they do make great stocking stuffers for kitties. You can also offer Fluffy a can of plain tuna in water.

Catnip ‘Lawn’

While we always recommend keeping cats indoors, there is no reason they can’t enjoy a taste of nature. Plant some cat grass seeds in a shallow storage tote or an old litterbox, and put them in a sunny spot to grow. Soon, Fluffy will have her own little lawn to look adorable on!

Kitty Subscription Box

Subscription boxes are becoming very popular, and it isn’t hard to see why. It’s always fun getting a surprise box of goodies in the mail! (Bonus: you get to watch Fluffy’s reaction whenever she gets her mail!)

One of Fluffy’s cuter quirks is her box obsession. Give your kitty some empty boxes and gift bags when everyone is finished opening gifts.
