7 Things To Do With Your Dog This Year

Happy New Year! Do you have a lot of things listed on your agenda for 2021? Or are you planning to just go with the flow? No matter what camp you are in, there are plenty of things your pooch would love to do this year. A Lakewood Ranch, FL vet lists some of them in this article.
Explore
Dogs are always happy to investigate new places. There are some truly beautiful parks in Central Florida. Take a one-tank trip with Fido! Just be sure to always bring lots of water along.
Have A Snack
Want to really get Fido’s cute tail going? Take him to a dog-friendly deli or café, or go through a drive through with him.
Go Swimming
One of the best things about living in the Sunshine State is the proximity to so many beautiful beaches. Many of our canine companions love to romp and play in the surf. Just be sure to put safety first. Only take Fido to beaches that allow pups. This isn’t only important because of ordinances: dog-friendly beaches are also less likely to have strong currents, steep drop-offs, or other hazards.
Relax
Life can get pretty hectic in the modern world. Remember to take some down time with your furry best friend. Fido would be delighted to spend a few hours—or even days—relaxing at your feet while you read or binge your favorite show.
Play
Does your canine buddy sometimes run up to you holding his favorite plaything, clearly hoping that you’ll take time to play with him? Indulge these adorable requests, and toss that ball or stick for Fido to chase. Time spent with dogs is never wasted!
Visit The Doctor
We know, Fido would probably prefer just about anything else on this list over coming to see us. However, it’s extremely important to keep up with your furry pal’s veterinary care needs! Follow your vet’s recommended appointment schedule.
Nap
Did you know that Fido spends about half of his time sleeping? That may be a bit much for most people, but it is important to be sure you’re getting enough rest. Dogs make great napping buddies!
