Cute Ways To Celebrate Mew Year's Day With Fluffy

January 1, 2022

Happy New Year! Did you know that our feline friends celebrate this holiday a little bit later than we do? While for many people, January 2nd marks the official end of the holidays, and a return to normalcy, Fluffy celebrates the same way she does everything else: on her own schedule. Tomorrow is actually the kitty new year, or Mew Year, as it is officially called. A Sarasota, FL veterinarian lists some cute ways to celebrate this ‘pawspicious’ occasion with your furry pal below.

Treats

To be fair, you don’t really need much of a reason to treat your cute pet to something extra yummy. However, Fluffy may appreciate a can of tuna, or perhaps some plain, cooked turkey or fish, without the skin, bones, or fat.

Catnip

Watching a kitty enjoying some of her favorite plant is bound to put a smile on your face. Start the new year on the right paw by offering Fluffy some fresh catnip. Or, better yet, grow a bit of your own!

Photo Shoot

Kitties are all very unique individuals, and they are all pretty adorable. It’s almost impossible for Fluffy to take a bad picture! Snap some candid photos of your furry buddy, and use apps and filters to make them even cuter.

Resolutions

Fluffy may not seem particularly motivated. After all, she does spend a ridiculous amount of time sleeping. However, that doesn’t mean that she isn’t interested in self-improvement. She may want to improve her pounce, increase her sprint times, or catch that elusive red dot. Help her out by providing her with lots of toys and taking time to play with her daily.

Veterinary Appointment

This one may not technically qualify as cute. However, it is very important. Just like people, kitties need proper veterinary care to thrive. Take a minute to schedule Fluffy’s next appointment. Healthy cats are happy cats!

Beauty Treatment

Cats are very clean, which is one reason they’re such great pets. That doesn’t mean they can’t use a little help here, though. Brushing your feline buddy regularly will remove dust and dead hair from her coat. That means less hair on your furniture and, for Fluffy, less hairballs. That’s a definite win/win!
